Seadrill and Sonangol’s Sonadrill joint venture has secured a contract extension for the Sonangol Quenguela drillship in Angola, Seadrill said on Monday.
The award covers a seven-well priced option for the ultra-deepwater drillship, extending operations in Angola by approximately 480 days.
Sonadrill is a 50:50 joint venture between Seadrill and an affiliate of Sonangol, with Seadrill providing management, operational and technical support.

Seadrill operates a global offshore drilling fleet focused on deepwater environments, providing drilling services to national and international oil companies, while Sonangol is Angola’s state oil company with activities spanning exploration, production, refining and distribution of hydrocarbons.
